Rachel's extensive education and hands-on experience form the foundation of her expertise in the film industry. Her journey began at USC's School of Cinematic Arts, where she directed one of the coveted thesis projects, worked at the student production office and graduated cum laude.

After college, she was a development assistant and script reader for Jon Voight before becoming the Director of Development at Rival Pictures, where she was a producer on films such as "Space Station 76," and "Beats, Rhymes and Life: The Travels of a Tribe Called Quest," which was nominated for a Grammy and won the Producer’s Guild Award for Best Documentary in 2012. She co-founded Higher Content in 2015, a production company responsible for acclaimed music videos and features like “Super Dark Times”, “Darkness Visible” and “The Ballad of Lefty Brown”.

She began teaching at USC in 2014. For three years she served on the admissions committee, participating in the process of deciding which freshman applicants to admit.

In addition to her producing credits, Rachel's commitment to storytelling has been recognized through various accolades, including the Science in Cinema Filmmaker Fellowship from SF Film in 2021. Her original screenplay, "Typhoid Mary," showcased her talent for writing and earned prestigious honors, including the Alfred P. Sloan Screenwriting Grant and quarter-finalist status for the Nicholl Fellowship in 2022.
